- 1 inch knob Fresh Ginger Thinly Sliced
- 1 teaspoon Fennel Seeds (Saunf) Lightly Crushed
- 2 cups Filtered Water
- 1 slice Lemon Optional
Wash the ginger and slice it into thin rounds (no need to peel if it's organic).
Lightly crush the fennel seeds using a mortar and pestle or the back of a spoon to release the essential oils.
Add 2 cups of filtered water to a small saucepan or electric kettle and bring it to a rolling boil.
Turn off the heat (or reduce to a very low simmer) and add the ginger slices and crushed fennel seeds.
Cover the pot with a lid to trap the beneficial steam and volatile oils.
Let the tea steep for 3 to 5 minutes.
Note for Readers: Steep for 3 minutes for a gentle flavor, or 5 minutes for a stronger, more therapeutic "medicinal" brew.
Strain the tea through a fine-mesh sieve into your favorite mug.
Add a slice of lemon or a drop of Manuka honey if desired, and sip slowly while warm.
For best results, drink this 30 minutes after a meal to support the Lower Esophageal Sphincter (LES) and prevent backflow, as explained in our Acid Reflux Healing Guide.
